A letter of abundant blessings for healing, handwritten by the righteous Rabbi Moshe HaCohen Kahan, attendant and trusted servant of the holy Sighet Rebbes, and the publisher of the works of the Atzei Chaim of Sighet, of blessed memory.
Dated: Thursday, Parshat Lech Lecha, 1934), Sighet … A letter from Chol HaMoed Sukkot … "I have received [your letter] and may your blessing ascend. May the Healer of all flesh send His way and heal you with a complete recovery swiftly, and may you return to your strength … I await hearing good news from you …"
Rabbi Moshe HaCohen Kahan, also known as Rabbi Moshe Nanashar, served as the attendant of the Kedushat Yom Tov and his son, the holy Rebbi, author of Atzei Chaim of Sighet, and continued by Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda, Av Beit Din of Sighet (the son-in-law of the Divrei Yoel of Satmar Zt”l). Rabbi Moshe was not only the attendant of the Atzei Chaim but also the publisher of his writings. As he himself wrote in the introduction to Atzei Chaim on the Torah (Sighet, 1934), in the section titled Davar El HaKoreh ("A Word to the Reader"), Rabbi Moshe HaCohen Kahan, who served in the holy house of the Rebbe, describes how he printed the sefer and notes that he had served for twenty years, and as his reward, the author gave him his holy handwritten manuscript to copy and prepare for print. The Rebbe greatly delighted in his work. Rabbi Moshe also published the Seder HaHakafot K’minhag Sighet (Satmar, 1924).
